The Learning Technologies 2018 expo took place last week at the Olympia London and lived up to its reputation as Europe’s leading showcase of eLearning and blended learning solutions.
Over the course of the two-day event, Learning and Development (L&D) professionals came together to share best practices, discover new trends, hear presentations and visit industry professionals.
There was plenty to get excited about at this year’s conference, including our own stand. NetDimensions’ award-winning LMS was exhibited at the event and we were excited to speak to so many attendees about our connected learning solutions.
The importance of API and interconnectivity
One noticeable trend this year was just how important a strong set of API/open connectors is to learning professionals when they choose a new LMS.
L&D managers need solutions which can slot into their current Human Resources ecosystem but provide a much richer and deeper learner and manager experience, as well as greater efficiencies on the admin side. NetDimensions makes it easy to connect multiple systems together using API/connectors. How we do that and why it’s so important was the subject of our seminar talk, “Fool proof ways to implement learning ecosystems”, hosted by Bill Mastin, SVP at NetDimensions, and Rose Benedicks, Strategic Consulting Lead at our sister company LEO Learning. In case you missed it, here’s a link to the slides from the presentation.
Compliance LMS needs
Compliance is more important now than ever, especially to companies in highly-regulated industries. NetDimensions is recognized in the industry for being the world’s number one compliance LMS, so many learning professionals came by the stand to find out more about the exciting compliance features the system offers.
Extended Enterprise Learning
Extended enterprise was also a popular topic at this year’s event. NetDimensions is one of the only robust LMSs which can be used for this purpose without disrupting the look and feel for the end learners. In NetDimensions’ LMS you can create portal pages with the added benefits of notifications, workflows, reporting, and administrative features to provide users with the robustness required to manage learning content and analytics.
Security was another important topic that Learning Technologies 2018 attendees wanted to talk about. Many other LMS tools don’t always provide the security required in today’s environment. NetDimensions’ LMS is the ideal replacement for lower security and open source learning platforms, whilst retaining the course content learning professionals have developed.
Last but not least, learning professionals were really impressed by the LMS demos at the stand. The most popular feature was the newly released widgets that improve user engagement.
So all in all, Learning Technologies 2018 was a great couple of days for the NetDimensions team!
Going forward, we’re looking forward to NextSteps 2018 as well as our upcoming webinar, Getting started with an integrated learning ecosystem, on Thursday 5 April 2018.
