We are a global company committed to providing value to our shareholders. In this effort, we take social responsibility very seriously. We are committed to doing business ethically and responsibly, respecting and investing in our employees and partners, protecting the environment, and improving the life of the communities we live and work in.
As a global company, NetDimensions is a participant in the United Nations Global Compact. We support the ten principles of the Global Compact with respect to human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption. We also aspire to be contributing to UN goals in order to achieve the common objectives of building a sustainable and inclusive global economy.
Submitting an annual Communication on Progress report is at the heart of NetDimensions' ongoing commitment to the UN Global Compact. The CoP provides valuable information to our stakeholders about NetDimensions' practical actions and plans to implement the Ten Principles of the UNGC in each of the four areas (human rights, labour, environment, anti-corruption) and more importantly, a measurement of the outcomes of these actions.
NetDimensions is proud to have deployed its technology to support a joint e-learning initiative between Metropolitan and STOP THE TRAFFIK in the UK to educate and raise awareness of human trafficking among authorities, communities, and the general public.
We believe in a diverse working environment where everyone is treated fairly and equitably. Continuous improvement is part of our culture and we encourage employee professional learning and development by supporting training programs and reimbursing related expenses.
We do business globally and we work very closely with a number of local partners and resellers in over 40 countries. We support the principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the way we conduct business with our international partners and resellers, and we try to always have a positive impact in their local communities.
NetDimensions was awarded its second Silver CSR Rating by EcoVadis in December 2016. A silver rating means that NetDimensions CSR evaluation score among the top 30% of companies evaluated by EcoVadis. This demonstrates that NetDimensions is a socially responsible company, caring about human rights, fair business practices, and sustainability.
EcoVadis aims to improve environmental and social practices throughout the supply chain. Its sustainability rating platform combines CSR assessment expertise and data management tools to allow several thousand suppliers to demonstrate their sustainability performance in a controlled and objective manner to their (prospective) clients.
Since the launch of NetDimensions' CSR program, we have conducted the following activities:
We kicked off our CSR efforts for 2016 with the Walk for Millions walkathon in Hong Kong, organized by The Community Chest in January. We had over 30 participants from among our employees who helped raise nearly US$2,600 for social welfare agencies providing Family and Child Welfare Services in Hong Kong.
We then organized a food and museum drive in the Philippines where we hosted 30 children from families who are beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development to a local museum, also providing these children with a nutritious meal and museum related guidance and education.
In November, around 20 NetDimensions volunteers, some with their family members, set out to cleanup a 4.5 kilometer stretch of the Shek O - Siu Sai Wan Trail on Hong Kong Island in an event co-organized with Hong Kong Cleanup. After about 2.5 hours of walking the trail, the NetDimensions team collected 1,390 pieces of trash weighing a total of 46kg. Our efforts were rewarded with two bronze medals by Ecozine Hong Kong in the categories "Largest Team – Country" and "Most Trash Collected – Country".
At the beginning of the year, NetDimensions employees in Hong Kong participated in the Hong Kong and Kowloon Walk for Millions organized by The Community Chest Hong Kong and raised funds to help its member social welfare agencies in providing "Family and Child Welfare Services" to hundreds of thousands of needy and disadvantaged families in the community.
In May 2015, NetDimensions initiated a fundraising campaign to help Save the Children (Hong Kong) provide emergency relief for the victims of the Nepal earthquakes. NetDimensions employees around the world were able to raise funds that will enable Save the Children provide kitchen sets to 120 Nepalese families to prepare, cook and eat hygienically, containing essential items such as pots, cutlery, mugs, and plates.
NetDimensions employees in the US and Hong Kong participated in blood drives in June.
NetDimensions is honored to be a sponsor of United Technologies Corporation (UTC) Golf Tournament that was hosted in September to support United Way.
United Way's work is focused on improving people’s lives in the following areas:
United Way envisions a world where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, income stability, and healthy lives.
Hong Kong and Kowloon Walk for Millions 2013 was held on 6th January 2013 to support “Family and Child Welfare Services”. There were 29 NetDimensions employees who completed the 10km walk and also took part in the donation drive to help The Community Chest for raising funds for its member social welfare agencies in helping needy and disadvantaged people in our community. NetDimensions matched the contribution that was raised by its staff members.
Blood donation may not be the most appealing of charitable activities, but like all other charitable events, it brings out the best in human nature.
On 8th November 2013, the most powerful tropical cyclone to make a landfall on record, Haiyan, smashed into the Philippines. At least 4,000 people were killed in the Philippines alone, and the damage caused by Haiyan to infrastructure, farmlands, and communications is colossal. Like other catastrophes, the aftermath of Haiyan will bring further challenges to the Filipino people.
In order to help the Philippines’ government and people, NetDimensions launched a donation program in December 2013 inviting its staff, clients and business partners to contribute towards the relief efforts for victims of Haiyan. NetDimensions matched the contribution and donated the full amount to the International Red Cross by the end of December 2013.
In response to the ferry collision accident near Lamma Island, our Hong Kong Team launched an internal donation drive and raised donations for the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals to help the victims and their families.
Our US Team participated in a cash donation and blood drive to support the American Red Cross in the recovery efforts after Hurricane Sandy.
In the spirit of the Christmas holiday season, we made a contribution to the Foundation for Global Compact to support the United Nations Global Compact's principles for human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
