Why is mobile not buzzing yet? (Part 2 of 2)

Step 2: Engage, engage!

For the learner, offering training that is optimized for a mobile device can be very engaging, as it allows him or her to drive their learning path, when and where is most convenient. This flexibility impacts the success rate of your learners and therefore the success and cost effectiveness of the training program.

Remember, you want to engage with learners with both content and tools that they are used to seeing outside of the workplace, from gamification elements of learning to mobile devices.

In addition, all aspects of business communication training can be covered within an online learning platform, blended in with additional personal coaching. The mobile learning elements offer what is needed just in time. Learners do not need to leaf through heavy dictionaries for vocabulary training.

The argument that smart devices are not suitable for lengthy writing tasks is very reasonable, and these tasks are almost always better if executed on a desktop computer. However, we need to ask ourselves if the time spent on writing while anchored to a desktop has a negative impact on the learner´s skill growth.

Your workforce, especially millennial workers, expect a true blended approach as part of their development.

Training, when delivered seamlessly via single sign-on between mobile and desktop devices, is most effective if it utilizes engaging content and coaching/mentoring.

Learning should be fun, easy to access and hassle free.
